The key to wearing a strong lip colour is to keep it simple. Less is certainly more when it comes to bold lips. Start off with a blank canvas: a clean and fresh face; and apply foundation all over, including corners and eyelids, to allow for complete coverage. Next, you can choose your colour and apply it to your pout. I find that bare cheeks and eyes work best when sporting a strong lip but you can add a touch of blush onto your cheeks and eyelids if you like. A thin cat eye also looks great paired with a bold hue. Just make sure to keep it subtle and allow the lips to take centre stage.
As you can see from the above images, since all I’ve done is add a bold lip to an otherwise fairly bare face, the lip colour is not overpowering and can be worn in the daytime.
